Who We Are
A Ministry Founded on the Love of God
Shelter of Comfort International Ministry is founded upon the eternal love of God, the Creator and source of all love. Jesus Christ is the foundation, purpose and heart of everything we do.
Our ministry exists to demonstrate the love, grace and compassion of God through Jesus Christ by bringing comfort, hope, encouragement, spiritual care and the message of salvation to individuals, families and communities.

Our Journey
From Christian Center to International Ministry
The Name “Shelter of Comfort”
Pastor Sunil Siriwardana had used the name “Shelter of Comfort” from 1979.
Shelter of Comfort Christian Center
The ministry began in Hingurakgoda under the name Shelter of Comfort Christian Center.
A New Ministry Season
After handing over the church to Senior Pastor Sunil Siriwardana, the ministry continued under the same name.
The Korea Ministry Journey
The founder travelled to Korea and the international ministry journey began.
Legal Registration and Highway Vision
Shelter of Comfort Christian Center - Trust was registered on January 22, 2012. The Highway Vision was also received through Senaka Rajaratne.
Shelter of Comfort International Ministry
The first ministry for Sri Lankans began in Gimpo, Korea, and expanded to people from many nations.
The Highway Vision
Eight Lanes. Many Nations. One Foundation.
In 2012, a dream was given to Senaka Rajaratne in which an eight-lane highway was being built and many nations were joining together to build it.
The Highway Vision represents a direct way of leading people from darkness into the light. The foundation of that light is Jesus Christ.
The ministry seeks to raise beloved children, disciples and sons of God whose lives reflect the character of Christ.

Rev. Hikkaduwa Liyanage Sharath Wijesuriya began his ministry in Hingurakgoda in 1991. Through prayer and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, God entrusted him with the Highway Vision, a calling based on Isaiah 35:8 to lead people from darkness into the light of Jesus Christ.

Senior Pastor
Rev. Kuruppu Omandul Lakpriya Padmanath
Senior Pastor — Bethany Assembly of God Church
Rev. Kuruppu Omandul Lakpriya Padmanath has faithfully served in full-time Christian ministry since 1993, dedicating his life to preaching the Gospel, discipling believers and strengthening the Church of Jesus Christ.
His ministry has been centered in Horana since 1995, while also serving believers in Nugegoda, Kottawa and Arawwala through pastoral leadership, evangelism, teaching and prayer ministry.
Partnership in the Korea Ministry
Since 2011, Rev. Lakpriya Padmanath has faithfully supported the Korea ministry of Shelter of Comfort International Ministry from its early years.
During 2024 and 2025, he served in South Korea, ministering to Sri Lankan communities through pastoral care, preaching, prayer, discipleship, encouragement and practical ministry support.

Travel to Korea
Obtain your visa at your own expense using the invitation letter received.
Serve as a Team
Two people or a married couple will proceed to an assigned area under a team leader.
Daily Team Prayer
Participate faithfully in daily team prayers physically or online.
